Recently, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province officially announced the evaluation results of the 17th Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards in Jiangsu Province. Our school has won 7 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 11 third prizes, totaling 34 achievement awards. The total number of awards, the number of first prizes, and the number of second prizes have all reached a historical high, with the total number of awards increasing by 26% year-on-year, and the number of first prize awards increasing by 133% year-on-year.
The School of Economics and Management, with 11 awards (including 4 first prizes), ranked first in the number of awards among all departments at Southeast University. The School of Arts, with 6 awards (including one first prize), ranked second. The School of Humanities and the School of Law tied for third place, each receiving five awards (including one first prize each). In addition, the School of Foreign Languages received two awards, the School of Architecture received two awards, the Department of Physical Education received one award, and other colleges received two awards. Overall, each department has achieved significant improvement in the number of awards. The Department of Physical Education, the School of Architecture, the School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, and the Academic Affairs Office have won the Jiangsu Province Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards for the first time.
It is reported that the Jiangsu Province Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards was established by the provincial government and is the highest government award in the field of philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu Province. It is awarded once every two years. Our school has formulated a collaborative achievement award cultivation plan at both the university and college levels based on the basic laws of award evaluation, coordinating and improving targeted service levels comprehensively. The Department of Social Sciences has, in accordance with the work process and higher-level requirements, proactively initiated activities such as result sorting, mobilization for application, application guidance, and formal review, providing comprehensive and high-quality application services throughout the entire process. The school attaches great importance to the evaluation for the Jiangsu Province Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards and has actively organized teachers to participate, ensuring the implementation of various tasks.
The awards obtained by the School of Economics and Management in this session have further promoted high-quality development that fully reflects the good development trend of the philosophy and social sciences at the university. It has made significant contributions to the smooth progress of the university's "Fine Arts Enhancement Program". In accordance with the overall planning of the university and the unified deployment, the School of Economics and Management will take this opportunity of the Jiangsu Province Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards evaluation to continue adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics for the new era. It will firmly establish the working concept of "building excellence with ingenuity", focus on promoting the construction of a comprehensive knowledge system with Chinese autonomy across disciplines, vigorously enhance the capacity of think tanks to provide policy advice and strive to produce more well-organized, influential, and high-level academic achievements.
