报告内容摘要 | We examine the effect of attending academically selective high schools on test scores, using administrative data with high school preferences from one Chinese prefecture. Combining a cumulative multiple-cutoff regression discontinuity design with a withincutoff normalizing-and-pooling fuzzy RDD strategy, we find no evidence of a positive effect of attending more selective schools, for students who barely crossed city-wide High School Entrance Exam (HSEE) score cutoffs. However, the effect of attending the most selective flagship has a large negative and statistically significant effect, which is more pronounced for students who performed relatively badly in the science track subjects in the HSEE. | ||

黄斌，香港中文大学哲学博士，南京大学教育研究院·陶行知教师教育学院教授、博士生导师，南京大学教育经济与管理研究所所长。研究方向为教育财政、教育政策评价、教育微观经济计量分析。主持国家社科基金项目3项，以及江苏省教育科学规划战略性与政策性重大招标课题、江苏省社科基金重点项目、联合国教科文组织国际合作项目等。获江苏省哲学社会科学优秀成果一等奖2次、全国教育科学研究优秀成果三等奖2次、基础教育国家级教学成果二等奖1次。入选南京大学登峰计划，华东师范大学兼职教授，兼任《华东师范大学学报（教育科学版）》编委、中国教育学会教育经济分会常务理事、中国教育发展战略学会教育财政研究委员会常务理事、江苏省高教学会教育经济研究委员会理事长。 | ||
