报告内容: Before launching a new durable product, the manufacturer must carefully consider product reliability design and after-sales service logistics. Among the most important factors in the decision-making process, warranty/post-warranty service demands should be modeled under significant uncertainty due to new sales, random failures and customer behavior. Indeed, it is necessary to integrate such information in maximizing the manufacturer's profit while providing quality services to the customers. In this work, we study some important aspects in estimating both warranty and post-warranty service demands for a new product. Product sales and failures are described by stochastic models and the corresponding managerial insights are presented. Moreover, a profit maximization problem is formulated considering the sales revenue and the associated costs. The work is the first attempt that integrates product reliability and service logistics in handling durable products used in capital-intensive industry.
