电子商务系与管理工程研究所成立于2004年。目前，系所拥有1个全日制本科专业，4个业余专科专业，与管理科学与工程系共建管理科学与工程一级重点学科，培养管理工程学科研究生，并指导工商管理硕士学位研究生。系所师资力量雄厚，所有教师都具有博士学位或副教授以上职称，负责或参与过多项国家与省级基金项目以及大型企业应用研究课题。
电子商务系与管理工程研究所以“培养人才，服务社会”为使命，秉承东大优良传统，严谨求实、团结奋进，致力于一流电子商务教育与管理工程学科建设，培养电子商务与管理工程领域高级专门人才。东南大学电子商务本科专业的特色在于：强调电子商务管理和电子商务工程，定位于培养电子商务高级管理人员和电子商务高级设计人员。东南大学管理工程学科的特色在于：强调面向管理的技术和基于技术的管理。

Department of Electronic Business and Commerce
The Department of Electronic Business and Commerce (DEBC) and the Graduate Institute of Management Engineering (GIME) were founded in 2004. At present, the DEBC and the GIME offer one full-time undergraduate education program and four part-time juniorcollegeeducationprograms, and offer one postgraduate education program in management engineering under the first-grade key discipline of management science and engineering, and offer supervisor for MBA postgraduates. The DEBC and the GIME have excellent and sufficient teachers, whom all have Ph. D degrees, or be awarded the title of associate professor or upper, and managed or participated in various national and provincial foundation supported programs and applied research programs for large companies ever before.
Based on the mission of Educating Talents and Serving Society, the DEBC and the GIME inherit fine tradition of Southeast University—be rigorous and realistic, be united and enterprising—in all efforts to build first class undergraduate education in electronic commerce and to build first class discipline in management engineering, and to educate the advanced specialist in electronic commerce and management engineering. The features of undergraduate education program in electronic commerce of Southeast University are emphasizing electronic commerce management and electronic commerce engineering, and focusing on education of higher managers and designers for electronic commerce. The features of discipline in management engineering of Southeast University are emphasizing the technology oriented towards management and the management based on technology.
