The forefront talk on "International Trade and Income Inequality”, lectured by professor Taiji Furusawa who comes from Hitotsubashi University has successfully held in the auditorium on 1st floor of the school of economic and management in March 11st. Professor Taiji hold several posts as the general secretary of APTS, permanent director of the Japanese Institute for International Economics and etc.
Professor Taiji has made outstanding academic achievement, published many papers in the International Economics, Review of International Economics and other well-known journals.
He has adopted a theoretical model to analyze the relationship between international trade and income distribution from two parts base on his profound influence on the sphere of international economics.
Firstly，he described the relationship between the enterprise's export and the workers' skill. Secondly, from the derivation, he made a conclusion that the income gap between the skilled workers and unskilled workers lead to the income inequality.
Professor Taiji's rigorous speech with witty aroused great interest of the students. In the final Q & A session, the students were eager to ask questions. The lecture was in warm atmosphere and full of discussion. Finally, the host, Professor Qiu Bin made a brief but excellent comment, and shares his thoughts with the students.
