The 5th Smart Accounting Development High-end Forum was successfully held from October 25th to26th, 2021. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the forum was held by the method of online meeting. This forum was jointly sponsored by the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University, the Institute of Comprehensive Evaluation of High-Quality Development of Southeast University, the Smart Accounting Professional Committee of Jiangsu Accounting Society, and the Innovation Research Center of Modern Management Accounting of Southeast University. The organizers were The Department of Finance and Accounting of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University and the MPAcc Center of Southeast University. The theme is "Cultivation and Transformation of New Liberal Arts Talents in Accounting in the Digital Era".
The forum was rich and substantial, with a total of 22 conference reports. More than 40 top experts participated in reporting, chairing, and commenting. The forum brought together top famous scholars in finance and accounting, including 9 president's secretaries, 2 members of international institutions such as the International Financial Reporting Standards Advisory Committee, 3 State Council Degree Appraisers Group members, 30 members of the Ministry of Education's Undergraduate Education Advisory Committeeand Postgraduate Education Advisory Committee, 26 deans or former deans, and more than 20 famous accounting experts.
Professor Chen Zhibin from Southeast University presided over the opening ceremony
Professor Chen Zhibin, Chief Professor of Southeast University and Dean of the Institute for Comprehensive Evaluation of High-Quality Development of Southeast University presided over the opening ceremony. Subsequently, Professor Huang Dawei, Vice President of Southeast University, delivered a speech. He pointed out that in the wave of the development of a new generation of intelligent information technology, our great motherland has contributed a great force to the development of intelligent technology in the world, and intelligent accounting empowered by intelligent information technology will definitely play a greater role in the process of economic growth. Therefore, the majority of financial and accounting personnel should continue to arm themselves to adapt to the development of the times. Professor Zhang Yulin, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University delivered a speech on behalf of the school. Professor Zhang Yulin sincerely invited all scholars to share and communicate in this forum, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all scholars for their participation.

Professor Jin Qinglu made a report on “The Shanghai Finance Program for Accounting Talent Cultivation under the Digital Background”, and Professor Hu Guoliu made a wonderful comment.
Professor Xin Qingquan first started with the development history of accounting and described the source behind the accounting reform. Then, some suggestions were given on how to cultivate first-class talents in accounting. Professor Zhang Junsheng expressed his approval and praise for Professor Xin's speech.
Professor Yuan Chun shared on the theme of "Thinking on the Connotation and Extension of Accounting Research Driven by Digital Intelligence". Professor Liu Zhonghua commented on Professor Yuan Chun's sharing.
Zhou Weihua gave a speech on "Reform and Development of Accounting Informatization in the Background of Digital Economy". Professor Li Zengquan made a summary of Zhou Weihua's speech.

Professor Chen Zhibin said that the forum provided new insights for further understanding the impact of the digital age on accounting, provided a wealth of practical cases on how to carry out the reform of talent training, and offered huge guidance and inspiration for the construction of the first-class discipline in accounting under the new liberal arts construction environment.
