On the afternoon of April 7th, Huang Ru, President of Southeast University, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, went to the School of Economics and Management for investigation. Ji Min and Wu Chan from the President's Office of Southeast University accompanied the investigation. The leadership team and teacher representatives of the School of Economics and Management attended the meeting, which was presided over by Yuan Jianhong, the Party Secretary of the School of Economics and Management.
Secretary Yuan Jianhong gave a comprehensive introduction to the basic situation of the school, including the overview of the school, the current situation of the school’s development, the main points of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and suggestions on issues. Secretary Yuan made a key introduction on talent training, teaching staff, scientific research, and discipline characteristics, and put forward the school’s future development goals and key tasks through benchmarking analysis. Three professors, Zhong Weijun, Liu Xiaoxing, and Chen Zhibin, reported some of the representative achievements of the school. Professor Zhong Weijun introduced the theoretical research on scientific and technological innovation management and its role in decision-making and consulting. He proposed to focus on the major strategic needs of China to implement of innovation-driven development strategy and build a strong science and technology country, carry out research on important theoretical issues based on China's reality, and then provide high-quality decision-making consulting services supported by theoretical research results. Professor Liu Xiaoxing introduced the financial security research projects for national major needs and their significance from the perspective of financial security’s research background, research characteristics, and research content. Professor Chen Zhibin introduced the construction and practice of our school's smart accounting talent training model in the digital economy era from the aspects of achievement summary, development background, promotion significance, peer evaluation, and scientific research support. Members of the leadership team and representatives of young teachers made reports and exchanged ideas on talent training, teacher team building, incentive mechanism, and subject evaluation system.
After listening carefully to the work report of the school and the speeches of the teachers, President Huang Ru fully affirmed the efforts and achievements of all the teachers in the School of Economics and Management and responded positively to various problems faced by the school. She pointed out that the School of Economics and Management is an important part of the high-quality development of a comprehensive university like Southeast University, and we would fully support the development of the school. President Huang Ru emphasized that to promote the development of the school, we should firstly, focus on talents, projects, and key points, and unswervingly do things that are beneficial to talent training and discipline development; secondly, unite and cooperate in administrative work, blossom in academic work, and gather a group of sentimental masters to lead a group of young people with vitality to explore new paths for national education; thirdly, unite the development power of all parties, do a good job of external circulation, form the systematic and classic achievements of the school, and improve the comprehensive influence of the school; fourthly, closely focus on the major national development strategies, take advantage of the favorable position in the Yangtze River Delta, combine the development advantages of Southeast University's engineering disciplines to promote the development of interdisciplinary disciplines, and propose leading and original scientific theories and solutions to practical problems for national governance and economic transformation.
