Recently, the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University and the Nanjing Alumni Association held an alumni symposium on educational ideas and an innovation and development research seminar on the "alumni economy" at the Alumni Innovation College. At the meeting, both sides discussed how to use the industry-university-research cooperation to improve the quality of talent training in economics and management, advance cross-disciplinary integration development, help alumni enterprises to improve their governance system, promote enterprise technological innovation, and jointly build school-enterprise practice bases.

He Yi, Deputy Secretary and Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Southeast University, along with Vice Deans Pu Zhengning and Xue Weili, attended the meeting with Zhu Wenjun, Executive Vice Chairman of the Nanjing Alumni Association, Secretary General Li Qing, Deputy Secretary General He Pingping, and representatives from the School of Economics and Management, including Ni Ning, Vice President of Jiangsu Zhihui Port Technology Industry Group, and Geng Hao from Chuanghang Technology.

During the meeting, He Yi and other heads of the school highlighted the current information asymmetry between universities and enterprises in technological innovation. They proposed initiating a "Third Classroom for Students" and promoting the establishment of a "practice base jointly built by schools and enterprises" to deepen talent cultivation and Industry-University integration, which will help companies achieve technological innovation. Vice Dean Xue Weili particularly mentioned that the School of Economics and Management will officially lead the construction of the "Southeast University Digital Economy and Technology Innovation Research Institute" in December. In the future, the School of Economics and Management will provide think tank suggestions for the construction and development of the digital economy based on a higher platform. The youth teachers present at the meeting put forward constructive opinions about their respective research fields.

The alumni representatives expressed their gratitude for the discussion between the Nanjing Alumni Association and the Alma Mater. We are currently in a critical period of economic transformation, where entrepreneurs urgently need cooperation with universities in talent reserves, technology reserves, management capabilities, and other aspects and hope to deepen interaction with the school through the platform of the Alumni Association in the future.

When summarizing the meeting, Zhu Wenjun stated that he hoped for regular exchanges and interactions between the Alumni Association and the School of Economics and Management. Both sides could deepen cooperation around "talent innovative cultivation" and "alumni business governance consulting", and provide services for alumni enterprises under more convenient mechanisms. Chairman Zhu also pointed out that the "Alumni Economy" was also facing the pressure of transformation and upgrading after several years of development. He welcomed young talents from the School of Economics and Management to share their knowledge and expertise and explore new growth poles for the Alumni Economy together.
